I just need to let it go!

So my most recent obsession is checking out this awesome blog, eat-yourself-skinny.  Well I was going through old posts and I came along this one, Let Go Post.  And it made me realize, I just need to let things go.  Sometimes when I am lost in thought, I find myself wondering about things, things that I could of done differently in my past relationship to make him stay, things I could of done to make him want to me, and why would he leave me for another woman, another woman that had a history of cheating on her significant others, a woman that is not nice at all.

And the thing is, I am VERY happy right now, even though I was devastated by my break up with my fiance, that just happened about 4 months ago.  I never thought I would be over this guy.  The things he did to me, and the way he made me feel in those last few weeks of our relationship, it WAS awful, but I loved him so much.  I was so dedicated to the relationship, and he wasn't, and I didn't want to see it.  And I am over it now, a lot faster than what I thought.  But I always start thinking about things that I should just LET GO, but I can't.  So reading that post made me think, 'Why I am torturing myself with all these thoughts??  JUST LET IT GO!!'

So for now on, when I start thinking those annoying thoughts, I am going to start telling myself, Just Let It Go.  I hope it helps me.  I should make a huge banner and put it up in my bedroom, so I can see it all the time and remember it!  Hahaha!

Just real quick...

I just want to say that I have lost 12.6 pounds since July!  I know its slow going, but I am very proud of myself!  My short term goal is to get down to my weight that I was before I met my ex-fiance, and that is only 12.4 pounds away!  I'm half way there!  I am going to buckle down on my weight loss, I kinda let it go there for a bit...

YAY!!!

A Delicious Smoothie

As I said in an earlier post, I started Weight Watchers.  Well I was on the hunt a couple good smoothie recipes for when I wake up.  Well, I am pretty picky about what fruits I like, and most of the recipes include blueberries or bananas, which are the two fruits I don't care for.  So I decided that I would just make my own, I have looked at a bunch of recipes, and I think I got the hang of it.  This is my Vanilla Pear Smoothie Recipe.

1 1/2 Pears (eat what you don't use!)
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder ( I used the Body Fortress Brand, its from Wal-Mart)
2 tbsp. Splenda
1/2-1 cup Skim Milk (depending how you like the thickness of it, this time I used 1/2 cup)
3/4-1 1/2 cups ice

Just Blend it all together and enjoy it!  I REALLY like pears, and if you do, this is the one for you.  This creates a HUGE smoothie, and it only has 333 calories.  It had 2 grams of fat, 40 grams of carbs, 6 grams of fiber, and 31 grams of protein.  That equals out to be only 7 Weight Watcher's PointsPlus Value!  This is definitely going to be something that I will be making for breakfast.  I also bought apples to try in the same recipe.  If you use apples instead of pears, I only use 1 large apple in the recipe.  It has 336 calories, 2 grams of fat, 49 grams of carbs, 5 grams of fiber, and 35 grams of protein, which makes this recipe have 9 PointsPlus Value.

I hope whoever reads this, enjoys the recipes I put out there!

Lots O' Yarn...and pictures!

I said I would post pictures of projects so here they are!  The first one is the completed star baby blanket.  This is not my pattern, I got it from www.ravelry.com.  (If you have a Ravelry account, this link should take you directly to the Star Blanket Pattern).

Its kind of a bad picture...all I had was my phone, not my actual camera.  Next project pictures are pictures of my iPod/phone holder for when I workout.  Its kind of big and bulky, but it works since none of my workout pants have pockets.  I haven't wrote up the pattern to it, i might get around to that some other day.  If anyone is interested, let me know, and I can speed up the process. =D

my cute buttons =D

I usually wear a tank top, I was just taking a quick photo...AND finally...my current project.  I am crocheting yet another baby blanket (I am behind lol).  Its called Polka Dots & Frills, but i just call it the polka dot blanket.  Its for a little girl, but instead of a color theme, the parents decided to do polka dot for the nursery.  I found the pattern on www.ravelry.com, again.  That website is my go to place for patterns.  (The blog for the pattern is Here )  Anyways, couple pictures here...

Adorbs right?!?!?!  Excited to see it finished!  Well that's it for now...later!

Update and new projects

A LOT has happened since I lasted posted.  I finished school in the beginning of July, and then my fiance broke up with me at the end of July.  So all my craft projects got put on hold.  I moved out of our apartment and moved back to my mom's house.  Through all of the pain and depression, I was studying for one biggest exams of my life, the NCLEX.  We tried working things out in August and he left me again in August, two days before my exam.  Luckily for me, I PASSED with the minimum amount of questions, which means that I'm smart lol!  So now I have been working on getting a dual license for work so I can start working as a nurse in Illinois.  And I am now determined to lose weight.  I am on my own, and I want to get healthier for myself.  I have never had a problem with being a big girl, and I have no intentions of getting ridiculously skinny, but I would like to lose 100 pounds.  My mom and I have decided to start Weight Watchers.  Before pictures will be posted in the near future.  But I have been working on some projects since I have finished with studying and moving.  I crocheted this cool phone holder for when I work out because my arm is too big to use the ones that strap to your arm (Plus I have an iPod to carry as well).  I made it up, and pictures will be posted of that soon too.  I also have three baby blankets to make...and all the babies are born!  Maybe they will be Christmas gifts...lol. I am almost finished with the star blanket, and when its finished I will post pictures.  Once that one is finished, I will be doing a polka dot blanket, and after that, I have an Iowa Hawkeyes blanket to make, and I still have to make to pattern for that too!  I've got a lot of projects going on...wish me luck!

Free Mini Star Pattern

I figured since a passed my first exam, I feel a little lucky. So I tried to make something.  I really wanted to make a Star ring, but the ring part didn't work very well.  But the star I managed to do.  The ring will be a later project.  Now this is my first pattern that I have ever done...so take it easy on me people!!  Okay so here goes nothing...

Okay...(please if I don't make sense...let me know!)

- Chain 6 and slip st it.
- Chain 4 and then 1 sc, chain 3 then 1 sc (chain 3 and 1 sc *3 more times*)
So now you should have a tire-looking piece with 5 openings...
- In every opening do: 1sc, 2 dc, 2 chain, 2 dc, 1 sc (5 points)
So now it should look kinda like a star, maybe more like a flower...
- sc up to small opening on end (that should be 3 sc), then in the opening: 2 sc, 2 chain, 2 sc.  Then you will sc 3 down (repeat 4 more times...)
- Now you should be all the way around to where you started.  Because the end is a little higher than the beginning, I flip the star to the backside and slip st it to back really tight, so it brings that end down.

And that's it!  Please let me know if I don't make sense.  Constructive Criticism...it can really help me!  And here are some pictures of it in my hair...I just kinda wrapped the extra yarn around a hair clip...Thanks for looking and hope you like it!  =D

*Feel free to make some!  You are more than welcome to sell the finished product, just not the pattern.  But please, credit me for the pattern.  Thanks! =D*

Nursing School!

This was Medic's way of helping me study...follow the highlighter!

I took my first exam of my Concepts In Clinical Nursing MOD B class. It's safe to say that I passed! I was extremely nervous that I wasn't going to, pretty sure that I even gave myself hives waiting fo my grade to be posted! Well that is all, just kinda happy how my grades are starting out so far. Woo Hoo!!!! =D =D =D

I made a hat over the weekend, in between clinicals and such, i found this flower pattern that is supposed to be pillow, and I thought, i should try to make something different! So the top part is part of the flower pattern, and then I just kinda winged the hat part. It turned out pretty well, over than the fact that it's REALLY big, and wouldn't fit a child. Oh well, maybe I will retry here in a few days and see what comes about that...but here are the pictures of the orinal hat, and my model is what I call, my Creepy Baby. I just used some extra yarn that I had laying around. Most of the colors don't go very well together, but it was just a trial run.
